Sisum sisarum
An old endangered Central European root vegetable with a sweet parsnip aroma.
The plants form bunches of 10-15 roots (harvest in the 2nd year). The taste is pleasantly sweet and preparation is the same as for carrots. As umbellifers, they are also an enrichment for the insect world.
